Travel Time Optimization

Field Camp Facilities

Reduce Fuel Consumption

and Emissions

Crew has reduced travel times, and emissions associated with fuel consumption, during field activities in northeast B.C. by optimizing the location of work camps and field operator site visits. In December 2018, Crew partnered with a First Nations owned camp operator to locate a work camp close to the nucleus of our near term development operations in West Septimus, adjacent to the 10-14 gas plant. Since its opening in January, 2019, more than 29,000 person-stays have occurred at the camp.

Benefits

Approximately two hours of travel time per worker is eliminated each day through the use of this camp as the nearest hotels or camps are approximately 80 km away. This serves to:

  • Reduce worker fatigue (59,500 hours reduced since inception)
  • Improves safety by reducing the amount of truck traffic on the road
  • Reduces the amount of fuel consumed in transport by 610,000L
  • Overall, ~1,650 tCO2e has been eliminated
